I like to start with a little chugging.
(Hold arms at your side, bend elbows and move in circles forward while making “choo, choo, choo, choo” sounds.)
Down by the station, early in the morning,
See the little puffer-bellies all in a row,
See the station master (hold hand above eyes)
Pull upon the handle (reach up and pull up and down)
Puff, puff, toot, toot, off we go!

Babette, I am a preschool teacher in search of a version of the Down by the Station song that I had on a cassette tape with a book back in 1988. I used this with my oldest son. It starts with the standard song, but then continues with some additional lyrics: The first little train is going up the mountain, the second little train is coming down; third little train is waiting on the drawbridge, the fourth little train goes in to town. These are probably not in order, and the verses go up to ten trains, but I don’t remember all the words. If you know of this version, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks,

Barb, I’m not familiar with that one, but I’ll keep my eyes open. If you find it, I’d love to share it with others. Good luck in your search!
